2007 Sports Luncheon Series

Have you ever wondered what it is like to be a professional sportsman? Or wondered what its like to be at the top of your sport? How do our elite sports people cope with the highs and lows of the game and what really goes on behind closed doors? Now's your chance to find out!

Blacktown Olympic Park, the home of sport in Western Sydney, has launched a fantastic new Sports Luncheon Series in 2007 that will answer some of these questions and more.

Former National Rugby League Referee and Media Personality Bill Harrigan launched the series on 23rd March, taking guests onto the field and into the heart of the action with some of the games best players.

Ex-Socceroo Goalkeeper and current Sydney FC Goalkeeping Coach, Jim Fraser, took guests on a spell-binding and often humorous journey 'between the posts' and into the action at the latest Blacktown Olympic Park 'Sports Luncheon' on Friday 6th July.

The third and final Sports Luncheon for 2007 was held on 14th September as an event in support of the Cancer Council Relay for Life. Former Wallaby International and media personality Peter FitzSimons related tales from his days as a first class Australian Rugby Union player and his thoughts on how the Wallabies can bring the World Cup back to Australian soil.

Guests were treated to entertaining - and at times hilarious stories from Peter's time as international Rugby Union player, his passion for writing and his current role as radio presenter on 2UE's breakfast program 'Mike & Fitz'.

The 2008 Sports Luncheon Series will kick of in March 2008. Watch this space for details of our special guest speaker.
