History
Established for over 100 years the NSW Athletic League conducts professional handicapped athletics events in partnership with sporting and community groups across the state.
The concept of a 'Gift' invites athletes to compete for prize money in a variety of sprint and track events. All races are conducted under a handicap system to give an even chance of winning. The carnival is open to men, women, juniors, veterans and wheelchair athletes.
Whilst Gifts were a very popular form of athletic carnivals, there a few remaining competitions in Australia. The Blacktown City "Christmas' Gift will be joining events such as the Stawell Easter Gift in Victoria, The Temora Golden Gift and the Queanbeyan Gift.
