International Day of People with a Disability

The day will celebrate the vitality and creative achievements of people with a disability through performances, attractions and community information stalls. The Joan Timperley Award and the Access Advisory (Disability) Sub-Committee Awards will also be presented to individuals who have given excellent service to people with a disability during the year.

Don't DIS my ABILITY campaign , developed by the NSW Department of Ageing, Disability and Home Care currently includes a state wide, month-long program of community, cultural and sporting events, and a concentrated advertising campaign to ensure that the Don't DIS my ABILITY message reaches a broader audience. Events are held throughout metropolitan and regional areas.
