Blacktown Olympic Park hosted the third annual Blacktown City Family Sportsfest on Saturday 16^th September 2006, a fantastic fun filled day for the whole family.

The event was a huge success with 26 sporting associations displaying their services to over 2,000 members of the community at the sports spectacular that also featured Mega Inflatables, face painting, Featherdale Wildlife Park, Milo Energy Van and the Nova 96.9 'Casanovas".

Youngsters got involved in 'Come & Try' Sessions from AFL, Cricket, Goalkeeping, Netball, Lawn Bowls & Touch Football.

Olympic Baseball Silver Medallists Gavin Fingleson & Rod Van Buizen, Six Time World Sport Aerobic Champion Lauren Farry, NSW State Softballers Renee Gloss & Craig Malcolm and Australian Long Drive Golf Champion Melissa Brydon were on hand to chat to families throughout the day.

Families also had the opportunity to enter the draw to win a variety of fantastic prizes from AFL NSW Rugby League, Netball, Cricket NSW and recreation packs featuring passes to Blacktown Leisure Centre Stanhope, Blacktown Aquatic Centre and the new Emerton Leisure Centre.
