Athletes Sprint Into Blacktown Olympic Park

Athletes from across Western Sydney will sprint into the Blacktown Olympic Park Athletics Precinct for the Little Athletics Region 2 Carnival from February 17 - 18.
The carnival will see athletes from 4 Little Athletics Zones across the region compete for a place in State Little Athletics Carnival to be held later in the month.
The competing Zones are Blue Mountains Zone (Emu Plains, Glenbrook, Katoomba, Kurrajong-Bilpin, Lithgow and Springwood Little Athletics Centres), Central West Metropolitan Zone (Liverpool, Mount Pitchard, Western Blues, Warradale, Green Valley and Macquarie Fields Little Athletics Centre), Outer West Metropolitan Zone (Colyton/St Clair, Cranebrook, Jamison, Nepean & Werrington Little Athletics Centres) and West Metropolitan Zone (Blacktown, Doonside, Lethbridge Park, Mt Druitt, Prospect, Minchinbury and Tallawong Park Little Athletics Centres).
Councillor Leo Kelly OAM, Mayor of Blacktown City will officially open the Region 2 Carnival at 10am on Saturday February 17, with some of NSW's Top Junior athletes expected to produce some great results over the weekend.
These athletes include Filoi Aokuso (Under 11 Girls Shotput - Blacktown Little Athletics Centre), Amy Nelson (Under 15 Girls Triple Jump - Kurrajong - Bilpin Little Athletics Centre), Christie Pearson (Under 13 Girls 800,1500 & 3000 Metres - Springwood Little Athletics Centre), Celia Sullohern (Under 15 Girls 800,1500 & 3000 Metres - Glenbrook Little Athletics Centre), Kurt Jenner (Under 14 Boys Long Jump- Mt Pritchard Little Athletics Centre) and Caitlin Heeps (Under 12 Girls 100, 200 & 400 Metres and Long Jump - Jamison Little Athletics Centre).
