Little Athletics Season Heats Up At Blacktown Olympic Park

Little Athletics Centres from across the Blacktown Region will converge on Blacktown Olympic Park Athletics Precinct for the annual Blacktown City Relay Trophy on Sunday November 11.
The event, supported by Blacktown Olympic Park and Blacktown City Council, was launched last year to commerate the opening of the new athletics grandstand.
Prospect, Mt Druitt, Lethbridge Park, Tallawong Park, Doonside, Quakers Hill, Kings Langley, Riverstone & Minchinbury Little Athletics Centres will be looking to claim the trophy from 2006 winners Blacktown in Relay, shotput, long jump, high jump and discus events.
Te Blacktown City Relay Trophy will serve as warm up event for athletes prior to the NSW Littlle Athletics State Relay Competition to be held later in the month at Sydney Olympic Park.
This is just the first of many athletics events to be held at Blacktown Olympic Park over summer. Athletes from across Australia will compete in the inaugural Blacktown City 'Christmas Gift' - National Professional Athletic Carnival on Saturday 1st December 2007.
The event, hosted by Blacktown Olympic Park in partnership with Blacktown City Council and the NSW Athletic League will see athletes invited from all over Australia to compete for prize money. All races are conducted under a handicap system to give an even chance of winning - making the event even more exciting and competitive.
The Blacktown City 'Christmas Gift' will now join the other 'Gifts' nationally including the Stawell Easter Gift in Victoria, The Temora Golden Gift in the NSW Country and the Queanbeyan Gift, ACT.
The carnival is open to men, women, Little Athletics participants, veterans and wheelchair athletes.
