Blacktown Into Major League Grand Final

Blacktown Workers Baseball Club's first grade side are through to the Baseball Major League Grand Final after rain on Saturday dismissed the efforts of their nearest rival, Baulkham Hills.
Blacktown Workers' first grade squad were eagerly anticipating their remaining game, a tie break against the 2009 Minor Premiers Baulkham Hills. However, Saturday's massive downpour meant a count back system had to be invoked. This saw Blacktown Workers qualify ahead of Baulkham Hills having scored more runs in previous games. Brimming with confidence after their against the odds qualification Blacktown Workers' are now ready to meet Manly Warringah in the Grand Final.
And the excitement didn't stop there! Blacktown Workers' jubilant third grade squad also made their Grand Final after a hard fought 2-1 victory against Manly Warringah on the weekend. Blacktown Workers Baseball Club President, David Pigram, stated "the whole club is really excited. It would be great to take home our first Premiership title in first or third grade."
Grand Final action starts this week at Blacktown Olympic Park! Watch Blacktown Workers' first grade side go head-to-head for the ultimate prize against the powerful Manly Warringah Club. With 3 wins against Blacktown Workers already this season, Manly Warringah will start as favourites. However, this is finals time and Blacktown Workers will give it everything they have in front of a vocal home crowd!
So head down to Blacktown Olympic Park and support our local boys, the Blacktown Workers Baseball Club, as they bid for Premiership glory against Manly Warringah in the first grade Grand Final! The first grade title will be decided in a best of three games series, the first game of which starts on Wednesday 18th March at 7.30pm. Game 2 will be on Saturday 21st March at 7.30pm and if games wins are tied, a sudden death decider Game 3 is penciled in for Wednesday 25th March.
