Spectators can expect to see electrifying action at Blacktown Olympic Park this February! Come and watch the men fight for last remaining Australian jerseys at the Open Men's National Softball Championship - The John Reid Shield!

Australia's best will step up to the plate to represent their home state - ACT, New South Wales, South Australia, Queensland, Victoria and Western Australia - and will battle for softball glory from February 16 to 20. ACT, with 6 national squad players in their ranks, will certainly be the team to beat but no question that Queensland and, home team, New South Wales will be giving it a dead-set go!

Action is due to explode at the Grand Final on Friday night - including the exciting announcement of the 2009 Australian Open Men's Team - 'the Aussie Steelers' - who will compete at the World Championships in Canada later this year. With 14 players already 'pencilled in' for the squad, 3 spaces remain up for grabs. However, with no name absolutely secure, it's bound to be a tense tournament with all players out to impress and confirm their green and gold ticket to Canada.

Games commence at 9.30am daily with the Open Men's Grand Final on Friday 20^th February from 7.30pm. So don't miss this fantastic tournament and the all important presentation of the Australian Men's National Team at Blacktown Olympic Park! Adult Tickets are $10 and Children under 16 are Free.
