Auskick Program kicks into Blacktown!

Monday, November 1, 2010

Come and try your Aussie Rules skills at Blacktown Olympic Park with the NAB AFL Auskick Program.

The 'Come and Try' program gives aspiring AFL stars the opportunity to learn Aussie Rules skills with fun and interactive games.

The six week program kicks off on Thursday November 4th and continues each Thursday until December 9th.

The program is a great opportunity for youngsters to get into the Aussie Rules spirit as the code makes its way to western Sydney.

"The NAB AFL Auskick Program is a great way for children in Blacktown to become involved in Aussie Rules," said Councillor Alan Pendleton, Mayor of Blacktown City.

"Participants will be able get first hand tips on what it takes to become an AFL legend and perhaps one day play for western Sydney's very own AFL team, Team GWS," said Mayor Pendleton.

Team GWS will make their debut in the 2011 NAB Cup against the Gold Coast Suns and officially enter the competition in 2012. The two newest teams will take to the Blacktown Olympic Park oval on February 19 in a pool which also features the Sydney Swans.

The Auskick Program takes place from 4pm - 5pm at a cost of $35 and all participants receive an AFL pack which includes a football, backpack, CD, activity book, footy cards and more!
