Diamonds Are A Girl's Best Friend

Women from across the globe will take to the diamonds at Blacktown Olympic Park from Friday January 22 till Tuesday January 26 to compete in the Sydney 2010 Invitational Women's Baseball Tournament.

The tournament will see teams from across Australia take on the International challenge of a combined USA/Canadian team named 'Baseball For All'. Teams will play 24 baseball games over 5 days of exciting competition, with the grand final taking place on Australia Day, Tuesday January 26.

Australia teams entering in the tournament are from Baulkham Hills, Newcastle, Greenway (ACT), Cronulla, Adelaide, Illawong and the North Shore. These teams comprise some of the best female baseballers in Australia who have all been working tirelessly to ensure they are strong competitors in the tournament.

This tournament is the first of its kind for female baseballers in Australia and offers a cash prize to the overall winning team! Thanks to the Tournaments sponsors, REMA Industries and Easton, the competition offers new and exciting opportunities for female baseball players and allows them to gain more sporting experience at an international level.

The action on the diamond kicks off on Friday January 22 at 7pm when the combined USA/Canadian team take on the North Shore while Baulkham Hills will go head to head against Greenway. Entry is FREE for all spectators, so to get in on the action just head on down to Blacktown Olympic Park located on Eastern Road, Rooty Hill.
