International Goalkeepers Academy Celebrates 5 Years Between the Posts

Goalkeepers of all ages joined with Sydney FC goalkeepers, Liam Reddy and Ivan Necevski to celebrate the International Goalkeepers Academy's 5th Birthday on Sunday May 30at Blacktown Olympic Park.

Goalkeeping stars of the future were treated to a variety of interactive sessions and games with Sydney FC Stars Liam Reddy and Ivan Necevski on hand to pass on their expertise to the keepers.

Mayor of Blacktown City, Councillor Charlie Lowles and Deputy Mayor, Councillor Stephen Bali were present to congratulate the academy on their success over the past 5 years at Blacktown Olympic Park.

The International Goalkeepers Academy, led by Ex Australian Socceroo Goalkeeper Jim Fraser, was established at Blacktown Olympic Park in 2005 to provide specialist goalkeeper training and development for students at all levels and ages. Over the past 5 years, many young talented players have progressed through the intensive program and have gone on to make the professional ranks such as Dean Bouzanis of Liverpool FC.

Recognised as one of the premier Academies in the country, the International Goalkeepers Academy regularly sees young prospects being joined by established professionals such as Liam Reddy of Sydney FC and and new Melbourne Heart keeper Clint Bolton.
