International Softball Gets Friendly at Blacktown Olympic Park!

Softball players from across the globe will make their way to Blacktown Olympic Park for the Softball Australia Friendship Series from July 4 to 9.


Mayor of Blacktown City, Councillor Charlie Lowles will get the action underway throwing the first pitch of the Series at 1pm on Sunday July 4.


The Friendship Series began in 2003 as a National Series, seeing teams from Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria taking to the world class at Blacktown Olympic Park diamonds.


Over the years, the Series has expanded to now include international teams from the United States of America, New Zealand and for the first time 2 teams from Papua New Guinea will join the mix of international talent at the series.


Under 19 year old boys and girls make up the 19 teams competing in the competitions with teams from Victoria (South East Metro Victoria, Waverly & Western Civil), Queensland (Sunstate, CQ Inferno), NSW Country and Metro and Australia Green & Gold Development Squad take on the international challenge of the USA, New Zealand (Junior Black Sox, Western Magpies, & Independent Softball Academy New Zealand) and Papua New Guinea (Papua New Guinea Malips & Papua New Guinea Maleos).


Teams will participate in 6 days of heated competition, with the Girls finals taking place on Thursday July 8 and the boys on Friday July 9.
