International Softball Stars of the Future Come to Blacktown!

Australia, Japan and New Zealand's future softball superstars will make their way to Blacktown Olympic Park to compete in the Blacktown Junior International Challenge from March 25 - 27.
The Blacktown Junior International Challenge is designed to showcase the talents of up and coming softballers with teams selected from junior tournaments and competitions throughout the year.
This year's challenge will see Canberra Development Squad, NSW Country and three NSW Metro teams take on the International challenge of Japan's Red Vickys and Q Flowers in the Girl's competition.
New Zealand join the challenge in the Boy's competition, going head to head with the Japan All Stars, Japan Max Juniors, NSW Country and three NSW Metro teams.
The NSW Girl's Metro teams include local softballers Caitlin and Nicole Michels (Penrith), Samantha Thrupp (St Marys), Tiarne Kerr (Penrith), Anya Govendor (Penrith) and Kelsey Griffin (Kellyville), who were all selected to take part in this year's International Challenge from their performances in the Under 14 State Championships.
The first game kicks off on Friday March 25 at 7pm with the Challenge coming to an end on Sunday March 27 when the Boys and Girls Japanese All Stars V the Australian All Stars games take to the diamond at 3pm and 4.30pm respectively.
"It is great to see junior teams from Australia, Japan and New Zealand competing at Blacktown Olympic Park. I would personally like to wish them all the best of luck in their games and for the future," Mayor of Blacktown, Councillor Alan Pendleton said.
