National AFL Championship heads to Western Sydney

AFL's hottest young stars will make their way to Blacktown Olympic Park to kick off the NAB AFL National Under 18 Championships on Saturday, June 4.
The Park will play host to Round 1 games with the competition providing the perfect opportunity for the next generation of AFL players to impress National selectors who will be amongst the crowd.
"We are delighted to host the Round 1 games at Blacktown Olympic Park and look forward to welcoming these young athletes as they compete in the Championships. I would personally like to wish them all the best of luck in their games and for the future", Mayor of Blacktown City, Councillor Alan Pendleton said.
The long standing Under 18 Competition has proved to be a great stepping stone for many AFL past and present champions including Sydney Swans legend Tony "Plugger" Lockett.
Round 1 of the National Championships will kick off at 10 am with Queensland taking on South Australia. The NSW/ACT Rams will then go head to head against Victoria Metro at 2.35pm.
The Championships will then head across Australia over a seven week period with the final games played on July 7.
The footy action at Blacktown Olympic Park doesn't end there! The Greater Western Sydney Giants will host the Gold Coast Suns reserves in Round 10 of the NEAFL Competition on June 4 at 1pm. Don't miss the opportunity to see the Giants in action at their home in western Sydney.
