Goalies 'On the Ball' At Blacktown Olympic Park

Wednesday, January 9, 2008

Goalies are 'on the ball' this January at the International Goalkeepers Academy Camp at Blacktown Olympic Park.

Led by former international and current Sydney FC Goalkeeping Coach Jim Fraser, the camp will run from January 14 to 16 and is open to goalkeepers aged 8 years and over - adults included.

"It's more than just stopping a goal:" says Fraser. "Our Camp will focus on accuracy, agility, speed and cross training exercises"

Fraser has worked with some of the country's best goalkeepers including Hyundai A League players Liam Reddy and Clint Bolton but stresses the academy's program isn't just for elite players.

"We are keen on also developing the skills of the youngsters that play their world cup on football fields across the country every weekend." Says Fraser.

The program offers day and Live in Packages with many keepers traveling from across the Australia to participate. The International Goalkeepers Academy also runs training sessions Monday to Friday from 3pm.
