Good Sports, Great Fun this Summer at Blacktown Olympic Park

Friday, December 4, 2009

Good sports and great fun take to Blacktown Olympic Park this summer with a variety of exciting and first class sporting events at the venue.

The Claxton Shield National Baseball Championships will heat up the diamonds on December 11 & 12, with the New South Wales Patriots going head to head with the South Australia in Round 4 of the series. A win to the Patriots will mean a home semi final at Blacktown Olympic Park in late January 2010.

Softball will bring in the New Year with the Softball Australia National Under 16 Championships from January 10 to 16. The national titles will see the girls and boys competitions come together for the first time and marks the beginning of many a successful representative softball career for the youngsters.

We don't like cricket in Blacktown Olympic Park……WE LOVE IT! What better way to celebrate Australia Day (January 26) than watching the Semi Final and Finals of the Sydney Men's Grade Cricket Twenty20 Competition at the new AFL/Cricket Precinct. The cricketing stars of tomorrow will also take to the pitch in the Under 16 State AW Green Shield match.

The Little Athletics season will culminate at the Athletics Precinct with the West Metropolitan Zone on February 6 & 7. The Region 2 Carnival takes to the track on February 20 & 21 with athletes putting in their best performances to gain a place at the State Championships.

AFL comes to your backyard with the Sydney Swans taking on Carlton in Round 1 of the AFL NAB Cup on February 20 at the new AFL/Cricket Stadium. The game starts at 7.40pm with tickets soon to be released.
