National Softball competition returns to Blacktown Olympic Park at the 2008 Under 23 Women's National Softball Championship at Blacktown Olympic Park from the 15^th to 19^th April 2008.

The Australian Capital Territory, New South Wales Country, Northern Territory, Western Australia, Victoria and Queensland State teams will take to the Softball NSW diamonds to compete in for the Joyce Lester Shield.

Having not won since 2005, the New South Wales Team looking to claim victory in front of a vocal home crowd.

Captain Lauren Williams (Grays Point) will lead the New South Wales Team comprising of Alison Bourne (Caringbah), Leah Bradley (Blacktown), Sarah Bradley (Blacktown), Sam Conway (North Balgowlah), Cassie Dowdell (Glenfield), Michelle Edgtton (Concord), Renee Gloss (Eaglevale), Samantha Hardwick (Newport), Kelly McNaughton (Belrose), Monique Miller (East Frenchs Forest), Kaia Parnaby (Bilgola Plateau), Ashlee Pobjie (Acacia Gardens), Sam Poole (Lindfield), Mikah Van Gough (Narrabeen) and Rachel Zucchetti (Wetherill Park) in the five-day tournament.

Games will be played from 9:30am daily with the Grand final at 2:30pm on Saturday 19^th April 2008.
